Catering Hospitality Internship

Location: UNC Chapel Hill

Internship Type: Part-Time Hourly Pay

Expected Start: Date August 2025

About the Internship: Rocky Top Catering is offering a dynamic and immersive internship experience for students or recent graduates passionate about hospitality and events. This internship is designed to provide hands-on exposure across multiple departments including Sales, Operations, Beverage Management, and Event Coordination, with the unique opportunity to assist with high-profile events such as collegiate football games.

What You'll Learn & Experience:

• Sales & Client Relations:
• Support the sales team with proposal development, venue tours, and client communication
• Assist in managing CRM software and tracking sales leads
• Event Operations & Logistics:
• Participate in the setup and breakdown of events including weddings, corporate functions, and large-scale gatherings
• Gain insight into event logistics, staffing, and execution
• Beverage Program Support:
• Work with the Beverage Manager on inventory, product knowledge, bar setup, and compliance regulations
• Assist in preparing and servicing bar operations for events
• Event Management:
• Shadow and support Event Managers onsite
• Assist in guest experience, vendor coordination, and timeline management
• Sports & Stadium Event Experience:
• Participate in catering operations during football games and other major sporting events
• Learn the fast-paced coordination of food service in large venues

Qualifications:

• Pursuing or recently completed a degree in Hospitality, Event Management, Tourism, Business, or a related field
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
• Ability to lift, push and pull 75+ pounds and stand for extended periods
• Team-oriented with a proactive, can-do attitude
• Available for all UNC Chapel Hill Home football games
• Weekend availability
• Familiar with Canva and Microsoft software preferred
