Job Description

Our client, a global marketing agency, is seeking a Senior Strategist for a temp-to-perm opportunity. In this role, you will play a key part in shaping data-informed strategies that drive meaningful customer experiences across the full journey. You’ll use research, insights, and CRM best practices to inform campaign development, create compelling content strategies, and guide channel planning. This is a collaborative, cross-functional role where you’ll work closely with creatives, analysts, and client partners to bring strategies to life across direct, digital, and social channels. This is a contract role to start with the potential to go full-time with the agency. Candidates can site in the following locations: Chicago, Dallas, Detroit, Los Angeles, NYC, San Francisco. Onsite requirement is ~3-days/week.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop customer journey strategies rooted in data and research to identify key moments for engagement, conversion, and retention.
  • Lead communication planning efforts that align with client objectives and use CRM principles to target audiences effectively.
  • Generate actionable insights from primary and secondary research, social listening, and customer data to inform strategy and creative direction.
  • Create detailed creative briefs and collaborate with internal teams to ensure campaign messaging is strategically grounded.
  • Build content strategies that support behavior change and long-term customer relationships.
  • Partner with creative and analytics teams to drive compelling, insight-led campaigns and measure their performance.
  • Define KPIs, testing plans, and learning agendas in collaboration with analytics partners.
  • Present strategic recommendations to internal teams and clients, articulating the rationale clearly and persuasively.
  • Stay current on CRM trends, tools, and technologies to continuously improve strategy effectiveness.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in strategic planning within an agency environment.
  • Solid understanding of CRM programs and experience applying data-driven strategies across email, direct mail, mobile, and social.
  • Proven ability to turn insights into compelling strategies that drive results.
  • Experience working with creative teams and developing content strategies across multiple touchpoints.
  • Strong collaboration skills with experience working across teams and with external partners.
  • Financial services industry experience is preferred but not required.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, with strong PowerPoint or Keynote presentation skills.
  • Exceptional writing, editing, and communication abilities with strong attention to detail.
